Treat yourself to some of the finest restaurants in Glasgow

Make sure to find the perfect spot for your next Glaswegian meal paired with the finest champagne.

Founded in 1812, the family-owned House of Laurent-Perrier has been defined by its pioneering role in innovating champagne throughout its history, challenging conventional techniques whilst honouring traditional values: a respect for nature and the terroir above all, a passion for quality, and strong, lasting relationships. The House’s long-term policy in grape growing and wine elaboration is based on sustainable methods.

Laurent-Perrier places care for the environment as part of its winemaking process from grape to glass, through practices such as minimising production waste, reducing pollution, and promoting the regeneration of soil nutrients through sowing floral fallow plants. Champagne Laurent-Perrier strives to ensure that all its actions show a continual respect for the environment and natural resources.

Ubiquitous Chip – Glasgow, Scotland

When the Ubiquitous Chip was opened in 1971 by Ronnie Clydesdale, its original home was effectively a glorified electrician’s yard in Ruthven Lane. But the tables quickly packed out, and a larger venue in Ashton Lane was soon sought out.

From there, the restaurant cemented its reputation as one of Glasgow’s go-to venues. Its well-known diners over the years have included Sir Billy Connolly, Mick Jagger, and Princess Margaret, but it is best associated with the late writer and artist, Alasdair Gray, who created dazzling venues inside the Chip in exchange for food and drink.

Their courtyard dining room is one of the most endearing magical spaces to eat out in the area. A fine dining menu is on offer in the restaurant and a lighter brasserie menu in the various bars, mezzanine and roof terrace.

From day one The Chip drew its inspiration from regional Scottish dishes. Aunties, grannies and even folklore were a constant source of influence. Food is locally sourced, seasonal, inventive and foraged when they can and their wine list is slick and well chosen.
