IMPORTANT UPDATE: The quiz is now SOLD OUT — if you get in touch we will instead add you to a waiting list in case of late drop-outs. If, knowing this, you want to pay us anyway, please contact Bryce at the usual private number.

We’ve been teasing the possibility for a long time, but — thanks to a generous sponsorship from Christofferson Robb — we can finally confirm that the FTAV pub quiz is staging its NYC comeback.

If you are unfamiliar with Alphaville’s pub quizzes, here are the post-quiz write-ups for the last two in London. Expect stupidly nightmarishly difficult questions on finance, markets and economics, amazing bespoke Alphaville prizes and instant promotions for all members of the winning team.

We’re also roping in Ethan and Rob from Unhedged to help us host things. There might even be a special guest appearance*.

When? April 9, from 6-10pm.

Where? Houston Hall, on 222 West Houston St. Nearest subway stop is Houston Street Station on the 1 line, but West 4th St (A, C, E, B, D and F lines) is just a short walk away.

How much? $20 per person. The ticket includes a (temporarily) open bar.

What?! It’s true. We’re combining Christofferson Robb’s kind sponsorship lucre and Alphaville’s own swag proceeds on a free bar tab for readers that come along. It won’t be infinite, but it’ll be generous. You will also be able to order food at the venue.

HOW DO I SIGN UP??? Email alphaville@ft.com with the subject line PQNYC2024, CCing up to five prospective team members for a maximum team size of six. Give the mobile number of the team captain and your team’s name. Tickets will go quickly, so don’t dawdle. Get that team together asap.

Once your entry is confirmed, a member of Alphaville’s Global Events Division will follow up with information about payment. Space is limited and tables will be allocated first-pay-first-served.

If you’re keen on coming but have no friends interested in finance quizzes, email us anyway. If there’s space and demand we’ll try to arrange some stragglers’ tables.
